Motels in New Zealand are ideal for the independant traveller and families. They are self-contained and serviced, with a fully equipped kitchen (some don't have ovens), bathroom, lounge area and bedroom.
Towels, linen and cooking utensils are provided and often there is complimentary tea, coffee, milk and newspapers. Motels range from budget through to luxury.

Holiday Parks/ Campgrounds
Ideal for families, campervans and pitching a tent. Most holiday parks in Kaikoura have a combination of cabins, tent sites and some have motels. There will be a communal bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities available as well as a barbecue area. Some have swimming pools, movie rooms and childrens play areas.
